The founder and owner of PCRE, Scott Furuta, has been in commercial real estate since 2005. He started off in a large commercial real estate firm where he learned how to develop leads by literally knocking on doors & cold calling (old-fashioned way) to generate business. Since then he went onto gain experience at some smaller firms that specialized in multi-family and commercial real estate.
Through perseverance, Scott made it through and survived the extremely tough times of the real estate industry (2007-2010), while honing his interpersonal skills of remaining steadfast & patient while continuing to work hard to help his clients through transactions.
Fast forward to today, with his very own small boutique firm called PCRE, that strives to remain humble while keeping its focus on the clients they have, to give them the utmost customer service and attention.
We realize that honesty, integrity, and careful, diligent hard work is the name of the game today. PCRE aims to provide these characteristics to every single client they work with and every transaction they are involved in.
The Team
Founder/Broker
Scott Furuta has been in commercial real estate since 2005. He is a graduate from UC Riverside with a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Scott has a wide range of experience in the real estate industry with a specialty in restaurant leasing along with helping his clients buy and sell commercial properties throughout Southern California with his main point of emphasis on multi-family apartment buildings.
Scott now lives in Eagle Rock with his wife and son. Previously, he lived in Japan for 4 years where he owned and operated his own English school. Nowadays, he enjoys watching sports (especially his son's basketball games), studying Japanese, and coaching various basketball teams.
Investment Analyst
Ryo Takei is a Berkeley grad and holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York. He worked on Wall Street as an options trader for HSBC for a few years before heading out west. He began his commercial real estate career in 2000 working as a financial analyst at Colliers in West LA. He then obtained his appraisal license in 2003 and finally his MAI in 2017.
He was the chief investment officer for Jamison Properties from 2005 through 2007 and has worked as a commercial appraiser (Empirica Advisors) and broker in private practice since 2008. In addition, Ryo can also speak Japanese fluently, which helps tremendously with our Japanese clientele. Ryo lives with his wife, daughter, and son (both doing college on-line for the time being) in LA.
Transaction Coordinator
Monica Ahn has over 15 years of experience in commercial and residential acquisitions and sales. She is highly proficient in a wide variety of real estate transactions and specializes in the documentation and disclosures required in both commercial and residential real estate. Monica has a very personable disposition, and another great attribute is that she can speak four different languages - English, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. Lastly, she is also a traveling notary.
Monica graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Economics. She currently lives in Orange County with her husband and two adorable children. Her current joys include cooking and Fortnite!

Brian Nakagiri has been in commercial real estate since 2008. He began his career working at a boutique firm in the Mid-Wilshire area, specializing in buying and selling multi-family units and commercial real estate all throughout Southern California. He then branched out into property management, helping his clients buy, renovate and re-sell properties, and also has become quite the expert in the Westside area on selling houses, duplexes, and triplexes.
At PCRE, Brian continues to work extremely hard to give his clients top notch service, ethics & integrity. He also continues to do numerous transactions of a wide variety every year while doing things & treating people with the "right" way. Brian lives in West LA with his lovely wife and son. He is an avid golfer and enjoys landscaping, eating good food, and spending time traveling with friends and family.
